  • What services do you offer In-Person?
    I offer hands on Somatic Education Sessions as well as Therapeutic Pilates and Custom Yoga Sessions, based out of Northumberland, ON, CA
  • What is Somatic Movement?
    Somatic movement is an awareness based and holistic movement practice. Based in your first-person experience of your living physical organism (commonly thought of as only your body), thoughts, emotions and connection to Self or Spirit. Somatic practices help you to notice and release tension which causes pain, process emotions, and restore your innate connection to deep rest, safety, peace and therefore healing. When experienced with a trained professional, it is a neuro-muscular re-patterning practice (a neuro plasticity tool to create change in your brain and your body) using a slow moving, focused, sense-based movement practice. Hanna Somatic Education® is a Clinical Somatic practice originating in the 1970’s which is used primarily for helping people relieve long held tension (chronic pain), reclaim their ease of movement and posture, addresses anxiety from the bottom up, regulate your nervous system, aid in trouble sleeping, and helps with respiratory problems.
  • What is Pilates?
    Pilates is a Holistic Movement practice that provides the student with great physical awareness, stability and strength. It is a dynamic and diverse fitness modality that Joseph Pilates brought to the world in the 1920's.
